We're all a little depressed our vacation was cut short.

Stupid Earl
01 September, 2010 Posted by: Kari
Hurricane Earl ruined our vacation by sending us all home 3 days early...just when we were starting to really get into "vacation mode."
Here are the few photos we did take:

(It took her a few times to get used to the pool, but the third time was the charm! She almost fell asleep floating on the waves.)
We drove through the night so Abby would sleep:

Next year those hurricanes had better stay far, far away.

One of "Them"
26 August, 2010 Posted by: Kari
Its official. I've become one of them. And by "them", I mean those blogs that are only about the kids. I've found that the more you insist that you will never do or become something, the more you increase your likelihood of doing or becoming that very thing. I promised myself I wouldn't only post about Abby, but here I am, multiple times a week posting about...Abby. Here is the thought I had that changed my mind: I don't journal. I don't scrapbook. How will I ever make a baby book for Abigail? However, I do take photos. And I do blog. So why not blog about her first year of life and then turn it into a baby book through blurb.com? Its a perfect solution, and gives me an excuse to make it all about her.
So, if you don't like babies, or if you're sick of my baby (in which case I question being friends with you), then check back in a year when hopefully things will be more balanced. But most likely they won't, and I'll just claim I'm working on book #2. (Notice I did NOT say baby #2.)

Fall-ish Day
25 August, 2010 Posted by: Kari
With the cool weather, I wanted to bundle her up.
Look who's standing at 3 months!

Doesn't she look so cute and cozy? There is a reason Fall is my favorite season. I love layers.

This is one of our favorite ways to start the day, when we get the chance.
Front Porch.
Rockers.
Coffee.
Bible.
Baby Asleep.

Blue Eyes

She loves to watch the cars drive by...

She's graduated from spit bubbles to full-blown drool.

Does she look like me yet, or is she still all Morby?

Contrary to popular belief, Wes is holding a real live baby and not a porcelain doll.

Bathtime
16 August, 2010 Posted by: Kari
I've been wanting a shot of Abby's fat dimples for awhile now. It's nothing compared to her cousin, Tucker's dimples, but I thought it would be cute to have nonetheless.

And it seems to get us back for the humiliation we were putting her through by posting her [behind] on the internet, she decided to pee all over me. And boy did that make her giggle!

As we were bathing her, we kept saying, man, does she ever stink! And so we'd wash her some more and still, she stunk...until we realized it was not our daughter that smelled, but our lovely coffee breath. Seems the aroma of coffee is so much more pleasing lifting from a hot steaming cup of coffee than on our breath...as we all well know.

Aren't I lucky? I get to see this smile every day.

(And yes, I'm still in the pee clothes in this photo...and even now as I post. There are just more important things to do than clean yourself sometimes!)

Nothing like singing Ray LaMontagne to your baby girl.
